GEORGE BERNARD SHAW
Stuart Ross

A cat hangs from the chandelier
from the chandelier, a letter arrives
a letter arrives outlining my death
my death will occur in nineteen stages
nineteen stages can accommodate nineteen plays
nineteen plays are too much for a single playwright
a single playwright puts a personal ad in the paper
the paper tells me the president has died
the president has died in one stage
one stage of grief is laughter
“grief is laughter” said George Bernard Shaw
George Bernard Shaw had a cat.
