When I thought I knew
myself I was wrong and when
I had no idea who I was I was
also wrong.

If I say this
is a new day it isn’t,
and if I believe this day is done,
it’s not.

And yet
I’ve never been as happy as I am.
Shaking like a leaf in love with the wind,
realizing how weak and desolate

I have to be simply to be myself
and how strong, how fortunate.
